Is This the Best Pub Lunch Deal in Christchurch? £9.99 and a Pint Says Yes.

We love a good deal, and when one’s on our doorstep, even better.
We stumbled across this one on Thursday during our traditional weekly lunch pint to bring in the weekend.
Lunch and a pint for £9.99 at The Ship in Distress in Stanpit, Christchurch.
Pubs are crying out for trade, and if you go midweek, you can often bag an awesome deal. If you’re visiting the UK or a resident, sticking your head into a pub should be well up there on your to-do list anyway.
It’s not pubbing. It’s money-saving, especially when pints are creeping up to six quid a pop round these parts.
Heartbreaking, isn’t it? Six quid…
You can thank us for the awesome excuse of getting down to the pub later.

Grab The Pub Lunch Deal While You Can!
It’s one of those deals that makes you want to come back. Arrange that next meet with your mate. Spend some time with your partner and support a local pub. All whilst enjoying a bite to eat.
In fact, we’ve been back three more times while writing this post. Once was a Friday and, yep, still on then too.
Here’s a taste of the options:
- Cheeseburger & Chips
- Gammon, Chips & Peas
- Sausage, Mash & Peas
- Steak & Mushroom Sandwich (the favourite)
- BLT
There were a few more, but you get the gist. It’s a proper plate of food, not a sad little lunch deal.
And it sets you up for the day.
With prices being what they are at the moment, this is a cracking offer. No good deal lasts forever, but hopefully this one sticks around. Pubs aren’t easy to keep afloat these days.
For us, it’s already become a regular spot when working in the local area with my work buddy or when Russ is off on a Friday.
Oh yeah, the burger sauce is Jeffing incred!

Drinks & Smuggling History
The drink selection on the £9.99 pub lunch deal is reasonable, mostly your mid-range beers like Madri and Cruzcampo.
There are a few others on tap too, plus cider, wine, and the usual soft drinks.
The Ship’s actually one of my favourite pubs in the area, so this deal’s a bonus. Strangely, it’s not advertised much. I saw a faintly chalked sign amongst a load of boards outside as I was walking in one afternoon.
A tidy £50 Facebook ad targeting locals and they’d be rushed off their feet.
Just my two cents.
Beyond the pints and pub grub, The Ship’s got some incredible history. It was once tied up in the smuggling trade, which adds a cheeky bit of character to your pint. If you’re into that sort of thing, we’ve covered it more in our post on the best pubs in Mudeford & Stanpit.

Final Thoughts
We’ll be covering plenty more spots around Dorset and Hampshire soon, so stay tuned.
But for now, do yourselves a favour and get down to The Ship for lunch one day. For OAPs especially, it’s a cracking deal to catch up with mates over a pint and a proper plate of food. We all need that bit of social time, and this hits the spot.
Go on, treat yourselves. Excludes weekends…. obvs.
Have fun, amigos.
